Known Precautions and Warnings :
Diazepam interacts with Ciprofloxacin HCl
May need to decrease DIAZEPAM dose if increased CNS effects occur.
Resulting In: CNS depression Ciprofloxacin HCl may increase the pharmacological effects of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Cisapride
The patient should be warned about the possiblity that the initial onset of the BENZODIAZEPINE may occur more quickly than subsequent doses.
Cisapride may increase the absorption and hasten the onset of action of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Clozapine
Observe the patient for signs of excessive side effects when CLOZAPINE is given with BENZODIAZEPINES.
Clozapine may increase the pharmacologic and toxic effects of Diazepam
Diazepam interacts with Estradiol/Norethindrone
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Estradiol/Norethindrone may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Estradiol/Norgestimate
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Estradiol/Norgestimate may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Ethinyl Estradiol/Drosperinone
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Ethinyl Estradiol/Drosperinone may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Ethinyl Estradiol/Ethynodiol Diacetate
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Ethinyl Estradiol/Ethynodiol Diacetate may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Ethinyl Estradiol/Levonorgestrel
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Ethinyl Estradiol/Levonorgestrel may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Ethinyl Estradiol/Norethindrone
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Ethinyl Estradiol/Norethindrone may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Ethinyl Estradiol/Norethindrone Acetate
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Ethinyl Estradiol/Norethindrone Acetate may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Ethinyl Estradiol/Norgestimate
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Ethinyl Estradiol/Norgestimate may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Ethinyl Estradiol/Norgestrel
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Ethinyl Estradiol/Norgestrel may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Lithium
No adjustments appear to be necessary.
Resulting In: Hypothermia Coadministration of Lithium and Diazepam has been reported to produce hypothermia.
Diazepam interacts with Mestranol/Norethindrone
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Mestranol/Norethindrone may increase serum levels of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Propofol
No adjustments appear to be necessary.
Effects of Diazepam and Propofol may be increased.
Diazepam interacts with Propoxyphene
Warn patients about possible interaction and consider decreasing the BENZODIAZEPINE dose if side effects become apparent.
Resulting In: CNS depression Combining Propoxyphene and Diazepam can increase CNS depressive effects, such as sedation and impaired reaction time, that are associated with each drug.
Diazepam interacts with Ranitidine
Monitor patient response. Separate administration time if possible.
Effects of Ranitidine on Diazepam are variable. Ranitidine may increase or decrease effectivness of Diazepam.
Diazepam interacts with Ritonavir
Avoid this combination. Consider a safer alternative BENZODIAZEPINE such as Temazepam, Lorazepam or Oxazepam.
Resulting In: CNS depression, sedation Combining Ritonavir and Diazepam can increase CNS depressive effects, such as sedation and impaired reaction time, that are associated with each drug.
Mirtazapine interacts with Diazepam
Try to avoid DIAZEPAM while taking MIRTAZAPINE.
Resulting In: impaired mental performance, impaired physical performance Concomitant use of Diazepam and Mirtazapine can potentiate some adverse effects.
Modafinil interacts with Diazepam
Monitor for excessive sedation. May require a lower DIAZEPAM dosage.
Resulting In: sedation Modafinil may increase blood levels of Diazepam.
Omeprazole interacts with Diazepam
May slow elimination by about 25-50%. Monitor for excessive sedation. Dosage adjustment may be needed.
Omeprazole may reduce the clearance of Diazepam.
Quinupristin/Dalfopristin interacts with Diazepam
Use with caution. Monitor patient response and watch for side effects. Adjust therapy if needed.
Quinupristin/Dalfopristin may inhibit the metabolism and increase the serum concentration of Diazepam.
Succinylcholine Chloride interacts with Diazepam
Not clinical significant. No therapy adjustment necessary.
Diazepam may increase or decrease effectivness of Succinylcholine Chloride.
Venlafaxine HCl interacts with Diazepam
Not clinically significant.
Venlafaxine HCl may increase blood levels of Diazepam.
