Use of ALPRAZOLAM with KETOCONAZOLE is contraindicated. Use a lower dose of BENZODIAZEPINES when using FLUCONAZOLE or MICONAZOLE.
Resulting In: CNS depression, sedation Ketoconazole can increase the serum levels of Alprazolam and increase the risk of toxicity.
Alprazolam interacts with Mestranol/Norethindrone
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed.
Mestranol/Norethindrone may increase blood levels of Alprazolam.
Alprazolam interacts with Nelfinavir
Avoid this combination. Consider a safer alternative BENZODIAZEPINE such as TEMAZEPAM, LORAZEPAM or OXAZEPAM.
Nelfinavir may increase the serum levels of Alprazolam and increase the risk of toxicity.
Alprazolam interacts with Propoxyphene
Warn patients about possible interaction and consider decreasing the BENZODIAZEPINE dose if side effects become apparent.
Combining Propoxyphene and Alprazolam can increase CNS depressive effects, such as sedation and impaired reaction time, that are associated with each drug.
Alprazolam interacts with Ritonavir
Avoid this combination. Consider a safer alternative BENZODIAZEPINE such as TEMAZEPAM, LORAZEPAM or OXAZEPAM.
Resulting In: CNS depression, Sedation Concomitant use of Ritonavir and Alprazolam can potentiate some adverse effects.

Avoid this combination.

Imatinib mesylate interacts with Alprazolam
Use with caution. Lower the dose of alprazolam or use a different benzodiazepine-lorazepam.

Monitor for adverse events and lower alprazolam dose as needed.
